First a word about the Finger Style method
of playing.
Chet Atkins Finger Style method, sometime known as Thumbpicking, is difficult because you play the
bass and melody at the same time. Chet Atkins and Merle Travis were the main innovators of this style and brought it to the
attention of the music world. Chet and Merle are no longer with us but their playing style will remain as a monument to the
finger style method of guitar playing.
